Press Release: Aaron’s Acres Receives A $5500 Grant From Lancaster County Women For Good
LANCASTER, May 11, 2023 – On May 10th, Lancaster County Women for Good held their Spring Gather & Grant to vote on and grant the funds they raised as a group over the last three months. The event was held at Lancaster’s iconic Southern Market.
Lancaster County Women for Good is committed to supporting non-profit organizations that are diligently serving our local community. Members nominated the three non-profit finalists, Aaron’s Acres, Second Grace Inc., and Arch Street Center. Representatives from each organization gave a short presentation to the group, followed by a time of Q&A. Members voted on which of the three finalists would receive the grant at the end of the event.
The grant recipient, Aaron’s Acres’ mission is to provide all children and young adults with disabilities opportunities to participate in the most innovative and unique social and recreational programs in an atmosphere of acceptance that embraces the child and family.
“Everyone at Aaron’s Acres feels most fortunate in being selected at the May meeting for the Lancaster County Women for Good funds that were raised by its members. Our camp program for children and young adults, ages 5-21, with disabilities begins next month, and we can’t wait,” says Executive Director Risa Paskoff. “This donation will support our programs and ensure that our campers have the opportunity to engage in meaningful activities with their peers, all while having so much fun!”
“Our philanthropy group is passionate about empowering each other, learning together about causes affecting our neighbors, and supporting the nonprofits who are serving our local community,” says Founding Member & Leader Anna Horst. “We are so thrilled to see the grassroots collective giving of our group go on to make a difference for Aaron’s Acres.”
A fast-growing female collective giving group with a focus on the Lancaster County region, Lancaster County Women for Good helps local women build connections and enrich their professional and personal lives while doing good for the greater community. The group of over 270 members comes together once every quarter to network, donate, learn about local nonprofits, and vote on which ones to support together.
