Your Work Matters—Let’s Amplify It Together!

FOR NONPROFITS

When women come together, change happens. When we uplift nonprofits, communities thrive.

At Lancaster County Women for Good (LCWG), we believe in the power of community-led philanthropy to create meaningful change.

We know the incredible work nonprofits like yours do every day to strengthen Lancaster County, and we’re here to support and amplify your impact.

Through our grant program, networking events, and collaborative opportunities, we aim to connect local nonprofits with the resources, relationships, and visibility they need to thrive. We’re excited to get to know you and explore how we can work together for the good!

How We Help

At LCWG, our support extends beyond funding—we build connections, amplify nonprofit voices, and foster a strong network of changemakers.

Member-Led Grant Giving

Our grants are awarded through a democratic process where our members nominate, vote, and award funding to nonprofits they believe in. This model ensures that our giving is community-rooted and deeply intentional.

Networking & Exposure

We believe that awareness and relationships are just as valuable as funding. That’s why we facilitate events to build relationships with members who often become long-term supporters of the nonprofits they encounter through LCWG.

How To Get Involved

If your nonprofit wants to engage with LCWG, the best way is to become part of our network and encourage your supporters to do the same.

Become a Member

Since only LCWG members can nominate nonprofits, one of the most effective ways to participate is to become an LCWG Member or encourage key supporters—such as board members, staff, or major donors—to become members and advocate on your nonprofit’s behalf.

Actively Network

To fully take advantage of what LCWG offers, nominate your nonprofit during a grant cycle, attend our events to share your mission with our members, and engage with our community both online and offline to build recognition and relationships.

NONPROFIT FAQ

  • Lancaster County Women for Good (LCWG) operates through the Grapevine, a national nonprofit that organizes and manages the logistics of giving circles. Grapevine verifies the eligibility of nominated nonprofits to ensure they have an active 501(c)3 status. LCWG does not have a minimum or maximum budget size for eligible nonprofits or a required number of years in operation, and all mission areas are open to be nominated. We only ask that nominated nonprofits work locally in Lancaster County. Organizations with a larger footprint that are active in Lancaster County are eligible.

  • There is no open application or RFP process to be considered for an LCWG grant. Organizations must be nominated by an active member (someone currently paying dues of at least $50 per quarter). Members may nominate nonprofits that they are affiliated with.

You may join and nominate your own nonprofit, however, understand that it is a competitive process and it is extremely unlikely that your organization will become a grant winner in the first cycle in which you are a member. Many nonprofits get nominated multiple times before they become a finalist and multiple nonprofits that have been finalists numerous times before being the grant winner. There is no guarantee your nonprofit will ever be a finalist or a grant winner so please only join as a member if you are genuinely interested in supporting a range of nonprofits across the community.

  • Our Board Members are active in the community and often happy to meet. However, please know that they cannot help your nonprofit be funded. The only way to be considered for a grant is to be nominated by an active member and then the full membership votes to award the grant. If you want to increase your nonprofit's chances of being nominated, ask people in your network if they are members of LCWG and, if so, ask if they would consider nominating your organization.

  • After nominations, there is a preliminary vote on Grapevine where members select their choice for the top three finalists. Your organization will receive an email notification from Grapevine about being nominated and you can update your profile on the Grapevine platform to ensure the mission and contact information shown is accurate.

LCWG will email the top three finalists with more information about presenting at the Gather & Grant.

Those who are not selected as finalists will be given the opportunity to present to members at the next Mix & Mingle event. No grants are distributed at this event, but it is a good opportunity to share more about your nonprofit and opportunities to get involved beyond donating.

  • LCWG awards are unrestricted general operating support. Please use the grant however you see fit to further your organization’s mission!

  • There are no formal written reports for award winners. We only ask that a representative of your organization come to the next Gather & Grant to give a short, informal presentation about your organization and how our funding supported your mission.

  • Award winners are eligible to be nominated 18 months after they receive a grant.

  • You can email lancowomenforgood@gmail.com and one of our board members will be in touch.
